@360i’s Social Media Marketing Quiz

July 1, 2009

I only got 1 question wrong – though I’d love to debate the person who created it in the first place. More important than the quiz itself is realizing how difficult it is to objectively test someone’s knowledge of social media marketing.

If you’re bored and want to test your knowledge I guess it’s a decent way of doing so. Does anyone else know of any other quizzes/tests/programs etc that try to evaluate your knowledge of social media marketing.

  • I didn't take the quiz, but I did read through the handbook and it had some pretty useful information. Props for only getting one wrong!
  • Thanks Sam! I completely skipped the handbook - maybe that would have helped
me get the last question right.

The question I got wrong was a True or False: Should companies always be
transparent in their social media efforts.

I actually put false though I know in most cases it's true. There is one
case that I think a company does not have to be completely transparent
(which by the way is a subjective term and has no definitive meaning) and
that instance is when they're experimenting. I think that no company or
individual right now is an expert because things are changing. They may have
been an expert yesterday but that doesn't mean they will be tomorrow. So, I
think it's important that companies experiment to see what sticks and what
falls. However, sometimes in order to try something new you can't put your
brand name and reputation on the line and some protection, ie. lack of
transparency, might be required. Therefore I thought it was either a trick
question or one that was somewhat like communism... only good in theory not
    in practice.
  • thanks for the handbook link! i'm just now getting into social media.. simply due to being a blogger i suppose. and wanting to be at the forefront of digital tech/trends.

i only got 6 out of 12 right though! but i honestly think i know nothing about social media.. beyond very basics. so maybe that's not so bad.

you should come to izeafest and meet me!! www.izeafest.com
  • Most of the questions were purely a matter of semantics and learning the lingo - once you hang around one too many "social media gurus" it's pretty simple really.

I'd love to attend izeafest but don't think I can make it. Fill me in on the details though!
